Weddings appear often in dream reports, especially among people near some kind of transition. That much can be said safely.
What the dream represents has not been established by any study. When a site claims a wedding dream announces an engagement, a pregnancy or a separation, it is repeating tradition — worth knowing before you take it seriously.
The common readings, and where they come from
Folk tradition: reads a wedding as a warning — in some versions of union, in others of loss. That both versions coexist already suggests neither came from observation.
Psychological reading: tends to treat the ceremony as an image of commitment and of union between parts, including parts of oneself. A public ritual where something becomes final.
What the reports show: many people describe not joy but discomfort — the wrong clothes, arriving late, guests watching, forgetting something essential. That places wedding dreams closer to exam and exposure dreams than to dreams about love.
The variation matters more than the symbol
Marrying whom? Were you the one marrying, a guest, or watching from outside? Did the ceremony happen or did something interrupt it? Did you want to be there?

Does dreaming of a wedding mean I'll get married?
